Philips Acdemy,Andover :: Summer '07 ::

Philips Academy Andover~Summer 2007~

Okay,So i went to a Summer School over the Summer. Need i say more?
Enrolling into a Summer School wasn't really my idea. I was actualy against it. Knowing that i was a very shy and reserved person towards new things, i knew it would not be such a great idea for me. It was all my parents idea. They wanted me to do sometime 'PRODUCTIVE' over the summer. My mama, did not want me bumming at home or according to her 'Lepak-ing' around KLCC. So YES. I had to pick one out of the 3 schools that my Parents found for me. Which i eventually did. I actually picked 2 Schools one in Andover and the other one in Exeter. I applied for both. Unfortunately i only got a letter of acceptance from Andover. I never received one from Exeter. My application must have gotten lost in the mail. It was that or Exeter must have had something against me. OH WELL. What's done is done.

My Summer School lasted for approxiamately 6 weeks. And during that six weeks it would be just like an ordinary school. The only difference was that i would be in a different environment, meeting new people from various backgrounds and will have the the opportunity of experiencing 'dormitory life'. AWAY FROM THE FOLKS. Yes.It was my forst time being away from home. I was quite excited but at the same time I absolutely dreaded it.

During the Summer,i had the option of choosing 2 Classes (a major & a minor) and 1 activity. There were a range of classes to choose from! There were so many thet i was so intimidated by it. There was Phsycology,Dynamic Body,Drama,French,Arabic,Archaeology,History,Physics etc.

I decided to take up Archaeology since i JUST LOVE LEARNING HISTORY. :) Plus,it would give me a hands-one experience to work hand in hand with Professional Archaeologists. I chose Introduction to Arabic and 'Social Dance' as my activity. YES,go ahead and laugh! Alyaa took up Dancing!!! =( But knowing me such a 'SILLY BILLY'. I didn't know that the Archaeology course was an EXTENDED MAJOR. Which meant that i would have to sacrifice my minor class and activity. How Stupid could i get. It was written on my acceptance letter but i was to BLURR to realise it. And so,it was to late to change. But i wasnt too upset about it. I was doing something i LOVED during the summer. Like i always say 'Everything happens for a reason'.

I was actually 2 days late for my Summer Sessions. This was due to my Exams in Mutiara which was held the same time as my Summer Session. The first person i met was 'Dave'. He's the guy in the office who handled all the student matters. He gave me this package with my Personal Details,Dormitory name and Letters about Trips that i could sign up for. The first thing i did was finfing my House. My House was called called 'BANCROFT'. It was named after one of the principals of Philips Academy.(He's dead) Poor guy. My mum and I had a hard time time finding Bancroft. And when we finally did. We realised that we couldnt enter without a key. So when i saw a girl entering the House. I screamed from a far!!! I shoutesd, " HI! Excuse me! Please whole the door for me! I'm new and I'm late!!!! Please! Thank YOU!". She did. Her name was Susan, she was from Taiwan but lived in the states. There was also a security guard,he saw me carrying my 2 BIG SUITCASES and kindly offered to carry it up for me. My room was all the way on the LAST FLOOR. I would have died tragically if i carried it on my own without help. :( BLEH.

Many people in KL thought that Summer Schools were for FAT PEOPLE. As in FAT CAMP! Well it's not :(

To Be Continued. . . . . . . . .

The Land Of Down Under!

I just recently came back from Melbourne,Australia.
I was in Melbourne for about a week. My little sister, adilla and I decided to go there to 'unwind' ourselves before starting school. We had just one more week left of summer,so we made the best out of it. We travelled alone, therefore we were considered as 'Underage Passengers'. It wasn't really me. It was actually because my sister was 12 years old. According to the law,I am old enough to travel on my own. :) And so, it was a 7+ hour flight. It wasnt't to bad compared to an 18 hour flight from Boston. It was terrible. =( Ask Farisha and Sanam, they would understand.

Oh Well. So we stayed at my older sisters 2 Bedroom Cosy Apartment. It wa just the 3 of us! Her Boyfriend, came by over the weekend. He is Hilarious and incredibly Sweet. He LOVES her and she LOVES him. I think they're Perfect together ;) Oh how i wish i met someone like that. Anyone? =)

What did we do there?
Well. We ATE like pigs. I am so much fatter now,its unbelieveable. My sister, she just wont STOP feeding us. She is such a wonderful Cook, just like my mum. She would make Pasta,Butter Chicken with Rice,Raviolli and Cookies! Plus, the food in Melbourne is absoulutely YUMMY.YUM YUM.
Unfortunately,my sistr had her Exams coming up. So she could not really bring us around a lot. :'( We had to go ourselves. Which we did. We often walked to town and on the rare occasions when had coins we would take the Tram down town.

Australia was definately NOT in Summer. It was Winter there, because Australia is located on the Southern Hemisphere. So when USA & Europe is enjoying Summer, while Australia is dreading the COLD. It's the complete opposite! And coming from a warm country like Malaysia, which is practically summer all year round, it was FREEZING for me in Aussie. :( I would wear like 2 pairs of socks and i'd look retarded. :( But i'm cool like that. hehe. ;)
We obviously went shopping! hehe. Whenver we called him to the cashier he would say " What's the BIG DAMAGE?"
There is also this Juice Bar in Australia which i am addicted to! It's called 'BOOST'. I love it. It rocks. My all time favourite smoothie would be the 'Mango Magic'! I would drink it twice a day and sometimes 3 times a day! I'm hard core i tell you! :p

I also decided to take up dance lessons. Well, actually Kakak Anis forced me. She told me to go for her class. She couldn't go because she had to study. Adilla on the other hand, refused to take part in any form of activity. So i was the victim. I was so NERVOUS. My dance teacher was a guy. He's name was 'DINO' . :) How cute! He thought be how to dance the SAMBA. Latin Dancing Baby. I manage to learn and remember the whole routine in one hour! It was pretty easy, but i hated 'TURING' I couldnt balance my self well and I kept falling over. It wasn't funny & when i twirled into him,i kept banging into his chest. I felt so bad and embarassed! My hands were everywhere! I wasn't used to dancing with a partner! He thought it was funny and i could see adilla lughing at me at the corner. :( By the end of the lesson,i managed to do my whole routine without doing any mistakes! I was so happy! I loved it. I'm thinking of taking dance lessons in KL? Anyone willing to join me? :) Please!

Most of the time, adilla and I would watch Grey's Anatomy on Tv-Links. Ever since i made her watch the first episode on the plane. She got hooked.
Kakak Anis, also brought us to Victoria Market! I absolutely love that Place. Tou can get anything there. YOU NAME IT :) We would also go to the CREPERIE for desert almost every night! :)

We were so sad, when we had to leave. I miss Kakak Anis So much. I didn't want to leave.
After she dropped us off at the airport, I realised that i had her Handphone in my bad! I'm such a SILLY BILLY. But that wasnt it! I had to forget to put the shampoo in my luggage bad! We couldnt bring any liquids in the plane! It had to be checked in! IM SO STUPID! So i passed the shampoo and handphone to my dad's friend so he could pass it to my sister. So yes. That's me. :(
This trip wouldn't be perfect without any problems!

This trip was the PERFECT way,to say Goodbye to my Summer :)

My First BLOG Ever. :)

Yes,this is my FIRST ever Blog. Can you believe that?

:: Well first of all, I was never really a 'Blog' Person. I didn't like the idea of telling the 'Whole World' about my life. Honestly,i didnt want people to think that i was bragging about my life. I thought people would think of me as a so-called 'show-off'. But after weeks of contemplating i decided to prove myself wrong. That instead of being a show off, i would just imagine this as being my Diary. :) Where i can express my feelings and to reminisce about the 'good old days'. I hope that many of my Blogs that i will come write in the future wont be criticised by people. That is my only fear. Come to think of it,i'm actually enjoying writing this blog write now. ::

And who might have encouraged me to create my FIRST ever Blog?

:: Well, Dhessy ofcourse! My Best Friend! As quoted by her ' My Ultimate Half' .
Yes,it was Dhessy who knocked some sense into me. She said that having blogs does not necessarily mean that you are 'showing off' or 'bragging'. So yea,i decided to create a blog finally. :) I hope what i'm writing is considered a blog. hehe. I'm still trying to get used to this idea. I'm a beginner at this. While the rest of you are experts at this! I'm hope you're proud of me! I am finally opening up to the world;) ::

Much Loves, alyaa.
